   LOU, JUST LOU | THE REPLICA When one of Grace Puckett's twin boys was snatched up by Cabal Malfosse in his younger years, the witch was left grieving for one son and neglecting the other with her growing obsession. Eventually the need to have him back turned into something else and she started to look into an untouched and damned division of the discipline of alchemy: the homunculi. The creation of an artificial human (nothing more than an inanimate organic object with a set of rules to follow) was (and still is) condemned by the vast majority of those who know about it, seeing as it required the entirety of the witch's power and vital energy to complete, resulting in her sacrifice. Encouraged by stories of Tauzin and her many golems, Grace believed she could accomplish what she desired and live to see its completion, but her methods could only pale in comparison to the queen's. With her death, however, was born a creature in the shape of her son Lewis without a soul or past to speak of, only vague memories of the world seen through Grace's eyes. Lou keeps himself under radar as he tries to figure out what the fuck he's going to do with his life, for the lack of a better word. His lifespan depends entirely on the magical residue of Grace's power and cannot be wielded by him, so as far as anyone sensitive enough is concerned, he's just a regular guy with a peculiar scent. |
